教学设计与反思要求 :

Teaching Contents: PEP English Grade 5 Book I Unit 4 What Can You Do? Section B:Let’s try &Let’s talk.

 
Analysis of the teaching contents:
Let’s try:
  It’s a listening practice. It includes a paragraph of key sentence. Students can perceive the key sentence by listening.
 
Let’s talk:
It’s a dialogue. Students can understand the key sentence better by reading and acting the dialogue;they can learn to use the key sentence “ can you....?” in suitable situation. and be able to answer:“yes, I can.”or“No,  I can’t.”as well; From this part, the teacher should advise students to use“Wonderful!”or “No problem, I can help you.” to praise or comfort other people.
 
Teaching Aims:
(1) Perceive the meaning of the key sentences. And try to use the key sentences in suitable situation.
(2)Be able to use the key sentences to ask and answer.
(3)Be able to use the key sentences to complete the chain work“Can you do it?”
(4)Help students to use“Wonderful!”or “No problem, I can help you.” Correctly.
 
Difficulties:
 (1) Any and some
 (2) The pronunciation of “Problem”.
                                                                                                                           
Teaching Preparations:
(1)We have 48 students , I divide them into 6 groups of 8. Each team has two leaders . they should help their team members to finish tasks better.
(2)Changyan teaching system and ppt.
(3)A poster for the English party , and several invitation cards.
(4)Cards for sentences and some lucky stars.
       (5) An introduction of team work rules .
 
Teaching procedures:
Step1 warm up
(1)Greetings
(2)Introduce the game rules: Next Tuesday we’ll have an English party. There are some invitations , Do you want to take part in the party? Do you want to get the invitations? Now I have some tasks for you. If you can finish these tasks by working together. You’ll get the invitations. Don’t be nervous, first let’s chant to relax.
 
Step 2 Preview
(1)Let’s chant :“Dog , dog, what can you do?....”etc. play the flash, students listen and chant .
(2)After chanting, shows students the first task: What can the dog do?....etc. give the team which is right a lucky star for praising.
(3)T: Mike can draw pictures, Can you draw pictures? Lead to new lesson.
 
Step3 presentation
Let’s try
(1)Follow the front step, show students the second task: Guess if Mike can do any kung fu.    
(2)Play the tape, students listen and tick the answer. Check their answers. Give lucky stars to the teams who guess right!
(3)Play the tape again, students listen and read.
 
Let’s talk
(1)T: Can John do any kung fu. What about Oliver? Please read the dialogue, give me the answers.
(2)Talk about the pictures of “Let’s talk. Such as : Who is Mr Ma? What will they learn in PE class?
(3)Explain:“We’ll learn some kung fu” and how to use some and any. When to use:“No problem. I can help you.”
(4)Play the tape, students listen and read.
(5)Give students task3: Read the dialogue in roles. Give them a short time to practice reading. But there is a limit: The team leaders can only help , but they can’t take part in reading the dialogue.
(6) Demonstration: I’ll call every team leader2 to make similar dialogues with me.
T: Boys and girls , Mr Ma is a PE teacher. So he wants to teach kung fu. Miss Cheng is an English teacher, I can’t do any kung fu. But I can speak English, we’ll learn English today. Can you speak English? Help students answers.
(7) Sing an English song. “Ten little Indian boys.”
(8)Task4: Teamwork, Each team makes similar dialogue. Let’s see which team can do better. Still give them a short time to prepare.
(9)Ask each team to perform their dialogues. At the same time, In order to make sure the other team can listen and be quiet, I will ask some questions about their dialogues. Who answers right will get a lucky star for their team.
 
Step4 Consolidation
( 1) Chain work: Can you do it.
Ask team leader1 to the front of the class. And say:“just now , you were enemies. But now you are friends , you should use‘Can you...’ to ask and answer one by one. But you can’t reuse the same phrase.”
(2)Task 5: Ask each team to do the chain work. The team leaders should supervise another team to make sure they won’t reuse one the  same phrase, and be able to speak English correctly. Choose 3 teams to be winners.
(3)Emotion Eduction:
   一个篱笆三个桩,一个好汉三个帮
A fence of the three piles, one of three men to help.
团结就是力量
One finger can’t lift a small stone。
It means if we can help each other, we’ll become more powerful.
(4)Sing the song: Ten little Chinese.
(5)Assessment: The teachers give their lucky stars to the teams which they think perform better . count their lucky stars . praise their good expression.

以下对我五年级上册,第四单元What can you do? 第四课时 Let’s try & Let’s talk 部分的教学进行反思。
首先值得肯定的是我大胆尝试了新的教学方式和方法,把课程设置成任务型教学和小组合作式学习。根据学生的层次分成8人一组的6个小组,每组选两名优秀生做组长,组长和组员要互相帮助,充分发挥集体的力量,要求全体参入。考虑到小组合作的利于弊,课前制定了《活动规则公告》
为了调动同学们的主观能动性,我设置了:Next Tuesday we’ll have an English party.的活动,并设计了邀请函,学什们需要通过小组合作,完成我设定的各项任务才能得到我手中的邀请函,在学什们完成任务期间,用奖励lucky star的方式评价他们的表现。最后再通过最后的评价让学生得到邀请函,最后用一句俗语“一个篱笆三个桩,一个好汉三个帮”来达到情感升华!用了一个English party.及邀请函作为课堂主线索串起一个个学习任务及活动。从大的方面来说还是有想法有做法的。但从细节方面有很多需要推敲和改进。
一。导入新课用时过多,Let’s chant 虽然是一个新材料,适合做导入新课的材料。但是学生不熟,耗时较多。Let’s talk部分的内容理解耗时也过长,在对话内容引出的时候,我运用的是先让学生带着问题读对话,再和学生讨论对话上的图画让学生理解今天对话内容的情境,这两项活动耗费了20多分钟!今后在教学每个环节用时分配上一定要注意改进。
二,同时还要充分了解教材前后知识的衔接和关联,既然要用上Let’s chant部分的内容,提前就该让学生接触,这样才能更好的被本节课使用。不会导致耗时过长的情况发生。
三,在教学的过程中要重视教会孩子们学习技巧,在let’s try 部分我是由一个问题,让学生带着问题听录音找答案,在这同时如果能够在ppt中打出tips ,说明听力技巧:“做听力的时候,要学会根据听力侧重点,抓住关键信息!”这是教会孩子们学习的技。授之以鱼不如授之以渔!
四,在让学生读对话找答案的同时完全可以让学生边听边读。增加学生听的机会。让学生多感受标准的英语发音及语音语调。
五.活动规则设置的意图是好的,但还可以用更好的方法达到教育公平,比喻在要求同学们分角色读对话的时候,可以要求组长帮助组员,但组织不可参加,可以改成让各组的组长先示范朗读课文,再让他们去教其他成员,感谢评课教师如此棒的主意!
六,用幸运星的方法是个不错的点子,但如果把幸运星分给各小组的组长手中,让他们每完成一个任务,自己往瓶子里投放一颗幸运星,这样孩子们会更有成就感。这个环节是因为我担心孩子们回作假,给自己组多放了星。这说明我对孩子没有完全的信任,应该相信孩子,其实孩子们各组都会互相盯着的,疑虑没有必要!
七,很多细节性的问题要注意,比喻我所用的装幸运星的杯子是玻璃的,这是易碎品,如果能换成透明的一次性茶杯就会避免危险!每一个环节过渡的都算不上自然,特别是锁链式练习那个环节,几乎是突然过来的。其实每个环节都可以可以运用与本课主题相扣的语言,比喻:刚才同学们完成的很好,离我们的English party 这个目标越来           越近了。接下来让我们一起来面对最后一个任务吧!让我们一起来做一个锁链式问答!
或者可以通过把英语party的地点时间等都设置成关卡,让学生通过完成任务后就打开一个关卡的主意吊足学生的胃口,并让它成为本节课的一条清晰的主线。
八chain work,这个环节有两个方面要改进:最后chain work的难度比前面make similar dialogue的难度要大,教学难度应该是层层递进才好,所以应该把这两个环节呈现的顺序交换一下;要求学生做锁链式问答,需要为学生准备足够的词汇,这时应该用ppt的方式,给学生提供一些词汇。
九.畅言与点读机。由于畅言和ppt来回的切换,太容易导致手忙脚乱,也影响了教学的流畅性,所以专家建议,要订点读课本,要用上点读书和点读机。这有时候会比畅言好用。
